Introduction of Radiation Oncology Department

Nowadays, cancer treatment requires multi-modalities, including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, target therapy and so on. Radiation therapy, also called radiotherapy, kills cancer cells by radiation. In recent decades, there are several break-through progressions in the field of radiation oncology. Today, radiation oncologist can deliver high accurate treatment for patients with different kinds of cancers via advanced techniques.

The mission of Radiation Oncology Department is to provide the high-quality management for cancer patients. Well-trained board-certified radiation oncologists are skilled in treatments of different kinds of cancers. Special facilities available now include modern linear accelerator, high dose rate brachytherapy system, CT simulator, 3D treatment planning computer, radiation measurement and protection devices and patient immobilization devices. We provide service in image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), three-dimension conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) and different kinds of brachytherapy. Some of our facilities will be updated recently to provide more efficient and accurate treatment modality. We also cooperate with other fields of oncologist and staffs to offer combination therapies and supportive care to promote life quality and survive of cancer patients.
