Food Service Section

A registered dietitian heads our department. Three management dietitians, managing the Food Service Section, are in charge of planning food programs and of supervising the purchasing, the preparation and the serving of meals. Our dietary staff receives ongoing training in food safety regularly. GHP standards are incorporated from receiving to service with stress temperature control, standardized recipes, preparing, cooking and cleaning. It provides high quality food for approximately 2800 meals per day including regular, vegetarian, infant formula and over 50 kinds of therapeutic diets. When patients first come to the hospital, the physicians order diets for them consistent with their medical histories and current medical conditions. It is important to let the nursing staffs know if patients have any food allergies, preferences, or other special needs so that the food is served to their satisfaction. Patients preferring a different diet can always talk to their physicians or dietitians and possibly change the diet orders.
