mission of the department is to pursue the excellence of laboratory medicine and
to translate our knowledge into supreme quality of diagnostic and patient services.
Department
of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine:
The department is actively involved in exploring new techniques
for laboratory services. The principle areas of the department include: (1)
Hematology and Microscopy, (2)
Biochemistry, (3) Microbiology, and (4) Blood bank.
The
department is commited in maintaining supreme quality of patient services and research with an aim to provide
outstanding service to patients.
The
Division of Hematology and Microscopy
The aim of Hematology and Microscopy Division is to
provide comprehensive hematology ,
microscopy
and emergency lab services for benign, malignant and urgent diseases.
The development of
new test methods and instrumentation provides more rapid and accurate diagnostic
methods for the promotion of
health and the diagnosis of disease.
The division provides an outstanding environment for
both basic and clinical laboratory sciences.
Education : The
division is maintaining continuing
education activities as
a function of growth and maintenance
of professional competence. The scope of learning including:
☉Perform
right quality control right
☉Performing
analytical tests on blood, body fluids, cells and other substances
☉Executing
quality assessment measures, and maintaining desirable accuracy, precision, linearity and calibration verification
of lab testing
☉Performing
preventative and corrective maintenance of instruments
☉Evaluating
and selecting new techniques, instruments and methods validation in terms of
their usefulness within the availability of laboratory's personnel, equipment
and budgetary resources
☉The
training of management, safety and information systems
We have also
made tremendous advances toward unifying many affiliated laboratories into a
centralized core lab.
