Club History:

1990：

Veterans General Hospital-Kaohsiung was opened on 31st, October, 1990.

The Badminton Club of Veterans General Hospital-Kaohsiung was set up on Dec 18, 1990. Dr. Hing-Chung Lam was elected to be the President of the Club.

1991：

Dr. C-F Yang, previously vice-superintendent and now the superintendent, became the Chief of the Sports Committe of this hospital.
July 27: Mr. W-H Cheung, the former badminton representative of this country, came to teach and demonstrate the skills of playing badminton to the members.
Sept 10: Friendship match with local badminton teams.
Nov 26-27: Invited to participate in the Badminton Match run by the Badminton Association of Kaohsiung City.
Dec : Mr. F-T Chen, the former badminton representative of this country and also good friends of Dr. Hing-Chung Lam & Mr. Z-W Chen, visted our hospital and taught the members how to play badminton skillfully.

1992：

March: Friendship match with a local badminton club.
June: Friendship match with a local badminton club.
October: Mr. F-T Chen came again to teach the members badminton.

1993：

Februry: Friendship match with a local badminton club.
November: Went to Tainan for a friendship match with a local badminton club there.

1994：

Aug 20-21: Dr. Hing-Chung Lam and Dr. P-O Chen participated in the First Lion Cup Badminton Match and they entered the quarter-final round in men's doubles.
September: Mr. F-T Chen came again to demonstrate badminton skills.
October 29: Badminton Club of the Kaohsiung Soldiers Officer School visited this hospital and played a friendship match with each other.
November 22-23: Participated in the 3rd Kaohsiung City Cup Badminton Match and entered the semi-final round.
December 17-18: Invited to participate in the Chairman Cup Badminton Tournament of the Kaohsiung Sports Association. The senior team won the Championship in the Junior Grade while the junior team entered the quarter-final round of the match.

1995：

March: Dr. B-O Chen represented the VACRS to participate in the 95' Sport's Day Badminton Match of the Central Organization of Government and won the 2nd Price in the Grade C match. He was granted an award certification personally by the chairman of the VARCS.
September: Badminton Club of the Kaohsiung Soldiers Officer School visited this hospital again and played a friendship match with each other.
December 21: Dr. Hing-Chung Lam and Mr. G-S Wu participated in the Bull Cup Invitational Badminton Match and won the Men's Doubles Championship of that match.

1996：

Februry 28-March 1: Dr. Hing-Chung Lam and Dr. B-O Chen represented the VACRS to participate in the 96' Sport's Day Badminton Match of the Central Organization of Government and won the 2nd Price in the Grade B match. They both were granted an award certification personally by the chairman of the VARCS.
May 25-26: Participated in the Chairman Cup Badminton Tournament of the Kaohsiung Sports Association.
June 3: Our club president, Dr. Lam, had created the first Badminton homepage on the web in Taiwan.
November 3: Dr. Lam set up a previous Badminton homepage for the "Chinese Taipei Badminton Association".
December 28-29: Participated in the Chairman Cup Badminton Tournament of the Kaohsiung Sports Association and won the 2nd prize in the Junior Grade.

1997：

The "Chinese Taipei Badminton Open 1997" was held from Jan 7 to Jan 12. President of our club, Dr. Lam, helped the "Chinese Taipei Badminton Association" to set up a homepage on the web so that people from all over the world can know the match results at once.
On Jan-17, Professor Chen Jia-Yan, the director of the office of physical education of Tamkang University as well as the winner for 7 times of the mixed doubles of Japan Community Badminton Open, leaded his partner Miss Yang and his colleagues visited our club and had a friendly match with us. Their highly skillful techniques in playing badminton impressed us very much.

1998 till now：

No special events happened.

Practice Time:

Monday and Wednesday:8pm-10pm: Reserved for the hospital representatives.

Other times: Open for the other members of the Badminton Club.
