Nuclear Medicine Division is located at the first floor of the main medical building of our hospital. The assignment proceeds to medical service, teaching, research and training. There are twenty-three members covering doctors, technicians, pharmacist, etc. in our division.
We provide many different scans including Myocardial perfusion scan, Whole body bone scan, Renal function test, Diuretic renography, DMSA renal scintigraphy, Gallium scan, etc. for more than 8000 examinees a year. I-131 treatments for thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism and Sr-89 treatments for bony metastasis are available.
We also offer many immunoassay items including tumor markers, hepatitis markers, hormone tests, therapeutic drug monitor for community. By calculation, there are around 100,000 tests a year.
We have effective training programs for residents, interns, and students of nuclear technologist.
Each year, some research projects of National Science Council and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital are performed at our division. Our staffs have published many papers in domestic or international journals.
In order to offer better service, presently our division has installed a new generation PET/CT and a most efficient SPECT/CT.
