Social workers are an important part of the hospital services and work as part of the medical team. Social workers are trained professionals who specialize in helping plan patients and families increase their capacities for problem solving and coping, helping patients  fully utilize medical care and services by explaining health-care resources and policies to patients, family and professional staff, helping patients and families obtain needed resources, facilitating interactions between individuals and between people and their environment, helping plan for post hospital patient needs by arranging for services at another facility or in the home, helping patients and families receive needed follow-up care by referral to health-care resources. 

 

For help the poor solve their financial difficulties, the hospital has established the “Wei Min Medical Charity Foundation” to provide financial help and assist. 

 

Besides social casework, medical social workers provide social group work, in which small numbers of people who share similar interests or common problems convene regularly and engage in activities designed to achieve certain objectives. The objectives include exchanging information, facilitating support for patients and families, helping them deal with their problems and education to improve the quality of life.

 

Furthermore, medical social workers provide health maintenance and prevention program to the community every month and promote interaction between the hospital and community. 

In addition, volunteers have been recruited and trained since the opening of the hospital. Services offered include patient service, inpatient visits, emergency patient service, wheelchair and book lending service, community service, etc.. 

There is also a kindergarten for the employees' children.  The kindergarten has 10 teachers to look after 130 children at 3-6.

In the event of questions on medical and illness issues, patients and family to the Hospital are advised to seek understanding and communication. In addition to regular consultation and answers, those who have difficulty moving can request help of voluntary workers.

 

Lost and Found :

We handle, according to the relevant regulations, the registered items lost and found in the Hospital.

Good Deeds & Our Models :

Patients or family to the Hospital write letters of gratitude to the Superintendent for the considerate treatment and care they receive from our medical personnel .  

The Good Deeds Window on the Cultural Corridor at the Hospital is for letters of gratitude for our excellent medical personnel ; and their photos are displayed accordingly.
